Nell’articolo si riprende il n. 206 dell’esortazione postsinodale Christus Vivit per evidenziare alcuni elementi del pensiero di papa Francesco che hanno rilanciato il tema della sinodalità in ambito pastorale. Per il pontefice, infatti, la sinodalità è al cuore dell’opera di rinnovamento della Chiesa; lo attestano il coinvolgimento di alcuni nuclei familiari nei due Sinodi sulla Famiglia (2014 e 2015) e il suo discorso tenuto il 17 ottobre 2015 nella Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore a Firenze in occasione del 50° anniversario d’istituzione del Sinodo dei Vescovi, in cui ha affermato che «Proprio il cammino della sinodalità è il cammino che Dio si aspetta dalla Chiesa del terzo millennio». La riflessione si snoda secondo tre punti: dapprima si colloca la sinodalità all’interno del magistero ecclesiale del postconcilio, poi si chiarisce come il recente Sinodo sui giovani possa intendersi come un evento generativo per la pastorale giovanile in termini di sinodalità; infine, si esplicita il contributo che le nuove generazioni possono offrire per l’edificazione di una pastorale giovanile dal volto sinodale, ovvero più inclusiva, relazionale e corresponsabile.

This article takes up n. 206 of the Post-synodal Exhortation Christus Vivit to highlight some elements of Pope Francis’ thought that have relaunched the theme of synodality in today’s pastoral context. For the Pope, in fact, synodality is at the heart of the Church’s renewal. This is attested by the involvement of some families in the two Synods on the Family (2014 and 2015) and the speech held on 17 October 2015 in the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Synod of Bishops, in which he affirmed, «The path of synodality is the path that God expects from the Church of the third millennium». The reflection unfolds in three points: firstly, the concept of synodality is placed within the post-conciliar magisterium of the Church; then, it clarifies how the recent Synod on young people can be understood as a generative event for youth ministry in terms of synodality; finally, it makes explicit the contribution that the new generations can offer for the building of a youth ministry with a synodal face, that is more inclusive, relational and co-responsible.
