L’autore analizza le prime due composizioni del cosiddetto ciclo poetico delle Odi sacre di Sofronio di Gerusalemme (VI-VII sec.). Ne definisce il genere letterario e, dunque, finalità e Sitz-im-Leben. Si sofferma sull’uso di alcune parole significativamente rilevanti e sulla struttura metrica per cogliere, sulla base di questa disamina, il pensiero teologico di Sofronio, figura eminente della cristologia neocalcedonese.

The author focuses on the two first poems of the cycle entitled Sacred Odes composed by Sophronius of Jerusalem (6th-7th centuries). He defines the literary genre, the final goals and the Sitz-im-Leben. Moreover, he delves into the implication of some meaningful words and investigates the metrical structure in order to understand Sophronius’ thought who was an outstanding theologian and representative of the new-Chalcedonean Christology.
