Nell’affrontare la sfida del fenomeno migratorio, facciamo riferimento a due ricerche empiriche: una quantitativa realizzata tra gli studenti italiani di scuola secondaria, la quale evidenzia la mancanza di chiarezza e approvazione riguardante i diritti dei rifugiati ed immigranti; e quella qualitativa la quale porta alla luce che sia tra i nativi italiani e gli immigrati ci sono tendenze alienanti ed esclusive da un lato, e dall’altro, tendenze dialogiche e integrative. In ultima analisi, la migrazione induce i nativi ed immigranti ad impegnarsi nell’ospitalità evangelica e diventare così profeti di comunione nell’edificare la famiglia umana.

In addressing the challenge posed by the phenomenon of migration in the Italian context, we refer to two empirical researches: the quantitative one undertaken among Italian secondary school students that brings to light the lack of clarity and agreement with regard to the rights of refugees and immigrants; and the qualitative research that brings to light, among both natives and immigrants, alienating and exclusive tendencies on the one hand, and on the other, dialogic and integrative tendencies. In the last analysis, the phenomenon of migration urges the natives and the immigrants to engage in an evangelical hospitality and thus become prophets of communion in building the human family.
