El descrédito de la verdad, su disimulada distorsión o su patente manipulación, la desinformación y las medias verdades, configuran y definen nuestra época. Vivimos, en una cultura en la que emociones y creencias cuentan más que hechos y realidad. Este es el mundo habitado por los jóvenes hoy. Una verdad que se busca y encuentra personalmente no es ni objetivamente demostrable ni puede apoyarse con argumentos de razón; ha de ser tema de experimentación y móvil para el anuncio. El Dios bíblico no se nos ha entregado en doctrinas, sino en una persona histórica; su único rosto visible ha sido su Hijo, Jesús de Nazaret. Narrar el propio encuentro con Cristo, «Camino, Verdad y Vida» (Jn 14,6) es el camino más fiable y eficaz de evangelización. La Iglesia se presentaría a los jóvenes creíble y útil, siempre que ejerciera con valentía y sin desmayo la diaconía de la verdad.
