L’esperienza educativa di san Giovanni Bosco manifesta una dimensione fondamentale nel suo modo d’insegnare, aperto a tante forme di apprendimento come, per esempio, il leggere e lo scrivere, i vari mestieri, il catechismo, il sistema metrico decimale. Tuttavia ciò che emerge ulteriormente è la sua formazione dei giovani ad insegnare; dei suoi salesiani a scrivere libri. Inoltre, è decisivo per la realizzazione dell’ambiente educativo di Valdocco, la formazione dei tanti giovani a divenire suoi collaboratori nella Società Salesiana, fondata con loro. In questo studio vengono sviluppati soprattutto questi tre argomenti, evidenziando come don Bosco mettesse al centro il saper fare, l’esperienza, il vissuto.

The experience of saint John Bosco as an educator shows a fundamental dimension of his way of teaching which was open to many forms of learning as for instance, reading and writing, various trades, catechism, the decimal metric system. However in the end it is his formation of young people for teaching which emerges; of his Salesians to write books. It is also decisive for the educational environment of Valdocco, for the formation of many young people in order to become his cooperators in the Society of Salesians, which was founded with them. These three subjects particularly are discussed in this article which underlines how John Bosco placed know how, experience and life itself at the centre of this formation.
